HOOPER'S HOUSE, CALGARY
Temperature: -2 degrees celciusTrack of the day: A Fond Fairwell, Elliot Smith
Today was our last day of work, but more importantly it was the last day we will see Alecs' cousins for the next two years. Ate April and Kuya Curtis, two people who have done so much for me and Alecs these past feAlecs went out for drinks with his coworkers after work and had quite a few drinks while I went to Ate April's for a delicious dinner. April and Curtis cooked our favorite meal - salmon and lemon potatoes - they sure do know how to spoil us and how to cook. I drove down to the pub to pick Alecs up and was beckoned in where I watched Alecs down a few more shots and another beer before leaving. The waitress expressed serious concern for the amount of alcohol he had consumed and warned me to watch for alcohol poisoning. Much to my dismay, Alecs had no hangover and never got sick because he had consumed so much water - such a brat.
Anyway it was back to the party where we had one last chance to say goodbye to the cousins -Ate Rosalyn, Cathy, Noel, Shelley, Ariel, Alethea, Curtis, Nicholas, Julia and Ate April. Just as soon as the night started we were saying goodbye and the tears started to come out on my end. Knowing that Nicholas will be in school and Julia will be talking when we come home was a sad thought indeed. As we drove past the house one last time, with tears running down my face I couldn't help but look forward to coming home before we've even gone.
