Well the day has finally come and is well underway. Alecs and I finished packing early this morning while the house was s

till quiet. Cuddling with Shadow on my bed, I started to feel the reality of what we are about to do. As if she knew we were leaving Shadow too was melancholy and rather clingy. Mom came into my room at about 8:30 shortly followed by dad where we talked about the next year and r

eassured eachother this was only 'see you later' not 'goodbye'. Klinker seemed unaware an

d rather perky (probably because of his new medication). Arrived at the airport to find Alecs paren

ts and my grandparents waiting at the check-in counter. A speedy self check-in later and we were headed for a bite to eat and a last chat with eachother. 

And at last it was time to

 say goodbye - the hardest part of all - the part that made me not want to go. Through teary eyes I said goodbye to my family - the most important people in my life and Alecs and I were off. W

e boarded almost immediately and the flight was quick and relatively painless (watched The Secret Life of Bees - or at least some of it) and we are now sitting at the terminal waiting to go to Hong Kong. I miss everyone, we love you all and will talk to you soon.
